We love the color palette of fall. And, while last week's brush with Tropical Storm Ida blew down many of the leaves, there are still some colorful displays to enjoy. Staff photographer Tracy Glantz enjoys the season as well, and captured images from autumns past.

COLUMBIA GREEN has awarded $11,000 in neighborhood and tree initiative grants for projects in the Columbia area. Winners of the neighborhood grants include Ashewood Neighborhood Association, Downtown Neighborhood Association, Historic Waverly Neighborhood, Strathaven Forest Subdivision, University Hills Neighborhood Association and the W. Gordon Belser Arboretum. Completion of each project is expected by June. Tree Initiative grants of $2,500 each went to the YMCA of Columbia for landscaping of the new Lexington facility and the Colonial Heights Neighborhood Association for tree plantings along Academy and Marshall streets.
