Judge sentences 19 in 2005 crack ring

Nineteen defendants charged in August 2005 with selling crack cocaine in the King Street area of Columbia have been sentenced in federal court, U.S. Attorney Reggie Lloyd announced.

During the investigation, an undercover agent made dozens of purchases of crack cocaine, and most of transactions were captured on video or audio tape, authorities said.

U.S. District Chief Judge Joe Anderson sentenced one of the lead defendants, Lorenzo Darnelle Tucker, 31, to life in prison, Lloyd said. Following is a list of the other defendants with their sentences:

  • Christina Jacobs, 28, 21 years, 10 months
  • Mike Roosevelt Kirk, 28, 21 years, 10 months
  • Ralph Sims, 36, 20 years, 4 months
  • Leonardo Davinci Baker, 23, 20 years
  • Demetrius Renee Walker, 27, 20 years
  • Tyganda Gilmore, 24, 15 years, 9 months
  • Deshan Rucker, 28, 11 years, 3 months
  • Andre Baker, 22, 10 years, 1 month
  • Lavar Blanding, 24, 10 years
  • Tyrell Letwan Davis, 23, 10 years
  • Sabrina Yvonne Addy, 27, 10 years
  • Juanita Barber, 48, 7 years, 9 months
  • Rhonda Lisa Caldwell Baker, 30, 6 years, 6 months
  • Yolanda Etheridge,23, 3 years, 10 months
  • Larry Patterson, 55, 3 years, 10 months
  • Artiz Gibson, 23, 2 years
  • Sheila Goodson, 42, 1 year, 9 months

    The case was investigated by the FBI, Columbia police and Richland County Sheriff’s Department, and was prosecuted by assistant U.S. attorneys Tara McGregor and Stacey Haynes.
