Columbia City Council is expected to vote Wednesday on new zoning to implement a recently adopted master plan for Five Points, called FutureFive.

The zoning generally limits building heights to four stories south of College Street, called in the plan “lower Five Points,” and to six stories north of College Street, called “upper Five Points.”

The new zoning includes a reduction in the required number of parking spaces for all businesses.

The Planning Commission is recommending the council approve the zoning. Council already has held a public hearing.
