Authorities are continuing to look into what caused a Richland County patrol car to hit a tree and flip, injuring the deputies inside.

Both officers, Tristan Overman and Horace Grant, are continuing to recover today from their injuries.

On Sunday, the officers were traveling in the 3500 block of Percival Road when a vehicle swerved into their lane forcing the patrol car off the road, according to the Richland County Sheriff's Department.

The patrol car then struck a tree and flipped.

The driver of the other vehicle did not stop, reports indicate.

A description of the vehicle involved was not immediately available.

Anyone with information should contact the state Highway Patrol or call 1-888-Crime-SC.
