Getting organized for the holidays

December 9, 2008

Braving the malls between now and the New Year can be a true test of strength and endurance that can drain both your physical and mental health.

With the current state of the economy, your bank account is probably already drained.

The Federal Trade Commission recommends you create and stick to a realistic budget.

Include the cost of holiday travel, wrappings, postage, decorations and anything relating to the holiday season that costs money in the budget.

Start by sitting down in the comfort of your own home and listing all the people you need to get gifts for along with a few ideas for possible presents.

This will allow you to plan your route to minimize time and gas usage and alleviate wandering through stores.

Understand your energy limits and consider breaking your list into small manageable chunks rather than trying to accomplish everything in one day.
