USC In Solid Shape With Anderson

Published: June 17, 2009

DE Henry Anderson (6-6 245) of Atlanta might attend a camp at Alabama this weekend. Next week he plans to cut his list to a final ten. One school he says will definitely make the cut is USC which is actually recruiting him as an offensive tackle.

"South Carolina was my first offer and I was excited about that," Anderson said. "I was really excited when they offered. Playing for a big time program in the SEC with a coach like Steve Spurrier would be an awesome experience."

Anderson said Georgia Tech, Stanford and Virginia also will be on his final list, and Clemson is a strong possibility. "They are recruiting me harder than anybody right now," Anderson said of the Tigers. He visited Clemson in late May. He's visited USC twice for basketball camp but has not made a football visit. He might take one to USC later this summer, and he might visit Florida State in July.

Some of Anderson's other offers are Maryland, Oklahoma, South Florida, Wake Forest, Purdue, Wisconsin, Oregon, Vanderbilt, Michigan and West Virginia. All the schools are recruiting him for defense except for USC and Vanderbilt.

Anderson said he wants to make his decision in late summer before his football season.
