Some suggestions on seeing fireworks tonight?

Say “Happy Birthday” to America with patriotic tunes from the Lake Murray Symphony Orchestra at 8 p.m. at Dreher Island State Park, 3677 State Park Road, Prosperity. Stay for the fireworks finale, which starts at 9:15 p.m. The orchestra is playing at Picnic Pavilion 14. Admission is $2 or $1.25 for seniors/disabled; children ages 15 and younger are admitted free. Peach cobbler, peach ice cream, whole peaches, peach slush, peach tea — yep, it’s time for the 51st annual Lexington County Peach Festival in Gilbert. Festivities start with a parade at 9:30 a.m. and wrap up with a fireworks show at 10 p.m. In between, eat plenty of peaches and enjoy the exhibits and live entertainment. For directions, visit www.lexingtoncountypeachfestival.com.

From rides to fireworks, the Newberry County Law Enforcement Officers Association’s 20th annual Fourth of July Celebration will keep families entertained. The patriotic fun starts at 6 p.m.; fireworks will fill the sky at 9 p.m. at Newberry High School, 3113 Main St., in Newberry. Festivities include free amusement rides for kids, a sky diving exhibition, live music and concessions. Admission is free. (803) 321-2211

For Fourth of July fun with a small town feel, stop by the eighth annual Fort Motte Community Reunion Festival. Try your hand at the horse shoes competition, taste contest-worthy barbecue from the cook-off and shop the vendors. In addition, enjoy live music, storytelling, children’s rides and tours of historical sites in the community. At Fort Motte Square Road, off Highway 601 in Calhoun County.
