A 22-year-old man who survived a car wreck Saturday on Farrow Road stumbled from his car, collapsed and then was run over by another vehicle.

The man was identified Sunday afternoon as Jeremy Scott, 22, by Richland County Coroner Gary Watts.

Scott’s address was not immediately available.

Today's news video

The accident happened on Farrow Road near Clemson Road shortly before 5 a.m. Saturday when Scott rear-ended an 18-wheeler parked on the side of the road.

“It looks like he might have fallen asleep in his car and run into the back of a tractor trailer,” said Watts. “There weren’t any skid marks.”

Scott then got out of his wrecked car and fell down in the road. When his body was struck by a car, he apparently died instantly, Watts said.

Watts said it appeared that Scott was shaken up by injuries received in the first accident, and that might be why he collapsed in the road.
