Lexington man dies in crash that also kills Aynor woman

The Horry County Coroner's Office has released the names of the two victims in a fatal two car collision Saturday evening, near Aynor.

Coastal Carolina University student Gregory Shull, 18 of Lexington and Deborah Grainger Peavy, 48, of Aynor were pronounced dead at the scene, said Coroner Robert Edge and Deputy Coroner Chris Burroughs.

Peavy was a member of Aynor First Baptist Church, were she was a Sunday school teacher and youth director, according to her obituary.

Shull was driving a 2005 Ford Mustang traveling south on U.S. 501 about a mile south of Aynor shortly after 5 p.m. when he crossed the median hitting Peavy's Volksswagen,which was traveling northbound, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.

Shull was wearing a seat belt and Peavy was not, according to the Highway Patrol. The crash remains under investigation.

Funeral arrangements for Shull were pending at Caughman Harman Funeral Home in Lexington.
