Clemson's Spiller a Walker semifinalist

CLEMSON — Clemson tailback C.J. Spiller has been named one of 10 semifinalists for the Doak Walker Award that goes to the nation's best running back.

Clemson made the announcement today. The list will be cut to three finalists on Nov. 23. The award will be presented Dec. 10.

Spiller ranks fourth in the country with average of 199.3 all-purpose yards per game. He had a school record of 310 all-purpose yards in a win over Miami on Oct. 24 and broke it last Saturday night with 312 yards in a 40-24 victory over Florida State.

Spiller is only 298 yards away of becoming the fifth player in NCAA history with 7,000 all-purpose career yards.
