USC HOSTED ITS LARGEST group of prospects this season for the Florida game with approximately 100 recruits in the stands.

Four made official visits: defensive back John Fulton of Manning, defensive back Victor Hampton of Darlington, linebacker Justin Parker of Beaufort and defensive end Adrian Hubbard of Norcross, Ga. There were no commitments over the weekend, but two of the prospects appear to be close to choosing the Gamecocks.

Parker is deciding between the Gamecocks and Clemson.

"He's getting tired of the recruiting process," said his brother Jeff, who joined him on the visit. "South Carolina is still in the lead. They want to use him like they use Norwood."

Parker won't make a decision until he visits Clemson, and he's going to try to set up one for this weekend. He will be back at USC for the Clemson game.

Fulton was favoring USC going into the visit and continues to lean to the Gamecocks over Alabama. He also has taken official visits to Alabama and Florida and is considering taking one to Tennessee. He plans a December announcement.

Hampton, a former Florida commitment, has been pursued by the Gamecocks. He is down to USC and Tennessee, with no favorite, and will try to set up an official visit with the Vols for this weekend. He has said he would wait until the US Army All-American Game to make a decision, but he said Sunday the decision could come sooner.

Hubbard has narrowed his list to USC, Florida State and Alabama. He said he enjoyed his visit and talked with Steve Spurrier before departing. Hubbard will take an official visit to FSU this weekend, and he will take one to Alabama after the season. He does not have a favorite.

Byrnes running back Marcus Lattimore made an unofficial visit to USC on Saturday. He has made several of those to USC and that is the reason he does not plan to schedule an official visit with the Gamecocks. He has taken officials to Auburn and Penn State and has scheduled trips in January to Oregon, North Carolina and Georgia. A source said last week USC and Auburn appear to be the top two with Lattimore.

Defensive lineman Ego Ferguson Jr. of Hargrave (Va.) Prep was not able to make his unofficial visit to USC on Saturday. The school imposed a "closed weekend" on its students and he could not leave campus. He hopes to reschedule a visit with the Gamecocks. He made an unofficial visit to USC back in July. Ferguson has taken an official visit to LSU and will visit Notre Dame this weekend. He is scheduled to visit Oklahoma on Nov. 27 and Cal in early December.

Athlete Sherard Cadogan of Cherry Hill, N.J., had planned to make his official visit to USC over the weekend but didn't make it and is now looking at the Clemson weekend for the visit. He has visited Wisconsin, Michigan State, Pitt and West Virginia.

Running back James White of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., has Clemson in his top four along with Wisconsin, Michigan State and N.C. State. He was in Clemson for the Florida State game. He has an official visit to Michigan State scheduled for this weekend, and one to N.C. State the following weekend.

Irmo running back Mustafa Green is scheduled for an official visit to Rutgers on Dec. 4, and he also plans to take one to N.C. State. Green said he also would like to visit Georgia, Alabama and Auburn. N.C. State and Rutgers are his top two.

Wide receiver Kadron Boone of Ocala, Fla., was at USC for the Florida game along with his junior teammate, defensive back Chris Johnson. Boone has been committed to Texas Tech, but USC has continued to work him. He said he will continue to talk to any school that is interested in him, and he will schedule some official visits after the season.

Athlete Darius Lipford of Lenoir, N.C., planned to be at the USC game Saturday but did not make it. He has been committed to Duke but is looking around and plans to take other official visits to USC, Clemson, North Carolina and Virginia. He will visit Duke on Dec. 4.

Wide receiver Tehvyn Brantley of Durham, N.C., made an unofficial visit to USC for the Florida game, and the Gamecocks and several other schools are waiting to see how his transcript looks. Brantley said his transcript is going to be sent out Monday.

USC has been in touch with Florida-bound linebacker Gideon Ajagbe (6-2, 201) of Coconut Grove, Fla., and would like to get him in for an official visit. Ajagbe says he's pretty firm with Florida but is willing to talk to other schools. He has been to games at Ohio State and Florida but doesn't have any other visits planned.

Defensive lineman Sharrif Floyd of Philadelphia plans to make an official visit to USC, according to his adviser. Floyd is scheduled to visit North Carolina on Dec. 11. He has taken officials to Florida, Southern Cal and Ohio State, and he's been unofficially to Penn State.

Defensive back Chris Davis of Birmingham, Ala., planned to make his official visit to USC over the weekend but did not make it. He plans to reschedule the trip for another weekend. He has been to games at Alabama and Auburn. He has offers from USC, UAB and Arkansas State.

USC remains interested in tight end Kendall Montgomery of Miami. He talked with recruiter Jeep Hunter several weeks back. He has offers from Purdue and Florida International.

Committed USC receiver Sean Tapley of Jacksonville, Fla., took in the Florida game and will be back for an official visit. He also plans to take an official visit to Miami in December and then finalize his plans. He remains firm with his USC commitment.

Defensive back Dontrell Johnson of Garden City (Kan.) JC is looking to take an official visit to USC for the Clemson game. He is taking an additional class to meet the SEC requirements for JUCO transfers. He has offers from Toledo, Ole Miss, Southern Miss, Purdue and UAB.

Byrnes wide receiver Jazz King was scheduled for an official visit to North Carolina over the weekend. He doesn't have any other visits scheduled. King has offers from the Tar Heels, Kansas, Tulane, Michigan State, Tulsa and Tennessee.

Former Myrtle Beach athlete Mario Jones has offers from Coastal Carolina and Georgia Southern and is getting some contact from USC. Jones is taking class this semester at Horry-Georgetown TEC after redshirting last season at Coffeyville (Kan.) JC. He's been to a game at Coastal and planned to go to Georgia Southern on Saturday.

Richland Northeast quarterback Kersean Wilson has a top three of Western Carolina, East Carolina and Middle Tennessee. He has offers from S.C. State, ECU, Western and Buffalo.
