PLAYERS TO WATCH
QB Everett Golson, Myrtle Beach
A junior who has thrown for 45 touchdowns with two interceptions, Golson runs the Seahawks attack with precision. He has thrown for more than 3,200 yards and has been a starter since his freshman year. Having guided Myrtle Beach to a state title last year, he knows what to expect on the big stage.
RB Taviouzie Booker, Clinton
The senior spearheads a rushing attack that has amassed more than 3,000 yards this season. He's 6-3, 220-pounds, so he keeps the chains moving, which is what the Red Devils need to do. Booker (1,062 yards) is one of two backs with more than 1,000 yards rushing and he has a team-leading 23 touchdowns.
MYRTLE BEACH WILL WIN IF ...
Golson and the Seahawks offense have their way. They are averaging 47 points per game in the playoffs and have the potential to reach the end zone at any time. If Myrtle Beach moves the ball at will, it will be a long night for Clinton
CLINTON WILL WIN IF ...
It controls the ball. The Red Devils seldom do anything fancy and are averaging 10 passing attempts per game. If they can keep the chains moving and the Myrtle Beach offense on the sidelines, they have a chance to pull the upset and knock of their fourth No. 1 seed in the postseason.
PREDICTION: Myrtle Beach 38, Clinton 20
