Kyle Taylor is the chef at Pawleys Front Porch on Harden Street in Five Points, which has been open since January.

What's good here?

"The burgers."

Video from around the world

What are they like?

"There are 12 to choose from. We get certified angus beef, and we double grind it. We season it before we grind it. Then we make them into 8-ounce portions. We cook everything to your liking, and everything's made from scratch."

Do all the burgers have coastal names?

"Pretty much. It's to go with the name of the restaurant. We have the Fripp Island burger, the Sullivan's burger. ... When somebody from Carolina football does well, we might name (a special) after him."

Like who?

"We had the Norwood wrap-em-up special. It comes on a roasted garlic wrap with hummus, roasted tomatoes, salsa made of artichoke, spinach and roasted red tomatoes, grilled chicken and chicken feta sausage.

"We sold a lot of them."

What's your best-selling burger?

"The Front Porch burger is the most popular - you pick your type of cheese and bacon. Second is the Isle of Palms with jalapeno bacon and homemade pimento cheese. The Wadmalaw is popular, too. It has fried pickles, chipotle barbecue sauce, applewood bacon and cheddar cheese."

How did you come up with these burger combinations?

"I just started writing them down one day and then tried them out. They're all pretty good."

What's your favorite?

"The Fripp Island and the Caw Caw Creek (jalapeno pimento cheese, bread and butter pickled green tomato, in-house smoked bacon and grilled onions). It's smoky, sweet and spicy all in one."

When are you most crowded?

"Friday all day, Saturday all day. Sunday lunch has been good for us."

Who eats there?

"College people and professional people. At lunch you'll have people with suits next to college kids."

Big TVs?

"There's a 100-inch TV outside and a 40-inch flat screen outside. There are three TVs in the restaurant."
