RECORDS: Clemson 13-3, 1-1 ACC; UNC 12-4, 1-0
COACHES: Roy Williams (606-142 in 22 seasons, 188-41 in seven seasons at UNC); Oliver Purnell (386-271 in 22 seasons, 130-80 in seven seasons at Clemson)
WHAT TO WATCH FOR
Oliver Purnell thinks observers will see that UNC's frenetic offensive pace hasn't really changed with the loss of point Ty Lawson. But that probably won't preclude Clemson from trying to shake a backcourt viewed as the Tar Heels' weak link; UNC has committed at least 16 turnovers in five of its past six games. ... Look for freshman Noel Johnson to get extended run at the small forward spot.
Starting lineups
UNC
G 6-2 Larry Drew 8.8
G 6-5 Dexter Strickland 5.4
F 6-6 Will Graves 8.1
F 6-10 Ed Davis 15.5
C 6-9 Deon Thompson 15.8
CLEMSON
PG 6-2 Demontez Stitt 10.9
G 6-5 Tanner Smith 10.4
F 6-6 David Potter 7.3
PF 6-7 Trevor Booker 14.8
C 6-8 Jerai Grant 6.1
BOTTOM LINE
UNC is 0-4 on the road, three of which came against top-10 opponents. Clemson can extend that futility if it can rattle the Tar Heels' ball-handlers.
