Airbrush makeup has always been de rigueur for the Hollywood set, ensuring a flawless face that stayed in place from limo ride through after-party. From time to time, powders and foundations have come onto the market promising a similarly smooth, long-lasting result, but few actually delivered.

Now, Temptu has debuted an at-home airbrush makeup system designed for regular folks but with all the power of the professional tool. And Temptu's got the professional scene covered: It has been in the stage makeup business for nearly 30 years.

In 1996, it developed an airbrush makeup that became a hit among makeup artists working the fashion-show beat, and its products are used on TV ("Project Runway," "Entertainment Tonight") and in the movies ("X-Men," "The Stepford Wives," "The Da Vinci Code"). The at-home system delivers makeup - foundation, blush and highlighters - that's contained in "air pods." These pods snap into the sleek, ergonomically designed applicator wand, which is used to atomize the makeup and mist it onto the face with pinpoint accuracy.

Makeup expert L.B. Rosser, who frequently creates the cover looks for Indulge (the Fort Worth Star-Telegram's monthly magazine), gave the system a thumbs-up, but cautioned that, like any professional tool, achieving perfection requires practice.
