1. George Rogers

Won the 1980 Heisman Trophy and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1997. Holds USC rushing records for career yards (5,204) and single-season yards (1,894).

2. Harold Green

Led USC in rushing three consecutive years (1987-89). Ranks third in career rushing yards with 3,005. His 33 career touchdowns tie him with Rogers for the school record.

3. Brandon Bennett

Ranks second in career rushing yards at USC with 3,055. Holds the single-game rushing mark with 278 yards against East Tennessee State. Had 107 career catches, the record for running backs.

4. Steve Wadiak

Ranks fourth on the USC career rushing list with 2,878 yards. Holds the school record for the longest run from scrimmage - 96 yards vs. George Washington in 1950.

5. Warren Muir

Was a first-team All-American in 1969, when he rushed for 969 yards and led the Gamecocks to the ACC championship. Coach Paul Dietzel called him "the toughest runner in college football."

6. Clarence Williams

Rushed for 2,311 career yards, including eight 100-yard games in two seasons at USC. Was a member of the Gamecocks' "Hall of Fame" backfield in 1975, along with Kevin Long and Jeff Grantz.

7. Kevin Long

Led USC in rushing in 1975 with 1,133 yards, including six games with 100-plus yards. Had a career-high 160 yards rushing against N.C. State in 1975. Averaged 5.3 yards per carry over his career.

8. Alex Hawkins

Was named the ACC player of the year in 1958 as a halfback. Was named to the Associated Press All-American third team and played in the 1959 Senior Bowl. Enjoyed a long NFL career.

9. Duce Staley

Rushed for 1,116 yards in 1996, the fourth-best single season in USC history. Had 218 carries that season, also fourth-best. Finished career with 1,852 yards rushing in two seasons.

10. Thomas Dendy

Averaged 5.6 yards a carry for his career, second-best in Gamecocks history. Rushed for 2,767 yards, fifth best all-time. Was a member of the Gamecocks' famed 1984 "Black Magic" team.
