HONORS

COLUMBIA COLLEGE has announced its honors lists for the fall semester of the 2009-10 academic year. To be named to the President's List, a student must have a grade-point average of 4.0. Students on the Dean's List must have a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher.

EVAN L. MARION of Columbia has been named to the Lincoln University Dean's List for the fall semester of the 2009-10 academic year. To be named to the list, a student must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.

LAURA TERESE REGAN of Columbia has been named to the University of Wyoming Dean's Honor Roll for the fall semester of the 2009-10 academic year. To be named to the list, a student must have a grade-point average of 3.4 or higher (3.25 for freshmen).

MARK EDWARD SPANIEL of Lexington has been named to the Missouri University of Science and Technology Honor List for the fall semester of the 2009-10 academic year. To be named to the list, a student must have a grade-point average of 3.2 or higher.

MICHAEL JACOB WENZINGER of Lexington has been named to the Iowa State University Dean's List for the fall semester of the 2009-10 academic year. To be named to the list, a student must have a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher.

SCHOLARSHIPS

AARON FOUNTAIN, a student at the Richland 1 Middle College, has been named a Horatio Alger National Scholar. He will be travel to Washington, D.C., in April to receive the $20,000 scholarship.

ASHLEY ADAMS, a student at Columbia High School, has been awarded the First Choice/First Choice Kids Member Scholarship. The inaugural scholarship is sponsored by Select Health and College Place United Methodist Church.

TASHA HUDSON of Irmo has been awarded a Chick-fil-A Leadership Scholarship. The $1,000 scholarships are awarded to team members who want to seek higher learning. An employee at the Harbison Boulevard restaurant, she is studying education at Lander University.
