NATIONAL RANK: 10
STAR OF CLASS: CB Lamarcus Joyner, Miami
THE BUZZ: The Seminoles finished strong, and while new coach Jimbo Fisher is an offensive guy, his first class is heavy on defense.
2. MIAMI
NATIONAL RANK: 20.5
STAR OF CLASS: RB Storm Johnson, Loganville, Ga.
THE BUZZ: In a deep signing class, Hurricanes signed a couple highly rated offensive linemen and several big-time defensive players.
3. CLEMSON
NATIONAL RANK: 20.5
STAR OF CLASS: WR Martavis Bryant, Anderson
THE BUZZ: Nabbing LB Justin Parker made for a strong finish to a deep class heavy on defense.
4. VIRGINIA TECH
NATIONAL RANK: 28.5
STAR OF CLASS: S Nick Dew, Virginia Beach
THE BUZZ: Hokies didn't have much room, but still did well in-state, inking four linemen who were four-star prospects.
5. NORTH CAROLINA
NATIONAL RANK: 30.5
STAR OF CLASS: G James Hurst, Indianapolis
THE BUZZ: Tar Heels finished strong, getting a couple late flips, including WR Sean Tapley from South Carolina and RB Giovannia Bernard from Notre Dame.
6. N.C. STATE
NATIONAL RANK: 37.5
STAR OF CLASS: OT Robert Crisp, Raleigh, N.C.
THE BUZZ: Not a star-studded group, but Wolfpack did well in-state. Crisp is well-regarded.
7. MARYLAND
NATIONAL RANK: 39.5
STAR OF CLASS: DB Titus Till, Upper Marlboro, Md.
THE BUZZ: Despite a 2-10 season, offensive coordinator (and recruiting specialist) James Franklin helped the Terrapins get a solid class.
8. GEORGIA TECH
NATIONAL RANK: 41.5
STAR OF CLASS: DE Anthony Williams, Union Grove, Ga.
THE BUZZ: Evidently, it's still hard to recruit for the triple option, but Paul Johnson has showed he doesn't necessarily need the best players to win.
9. BOSTON COLLEGE
NATIONAL RANK: 44.5
STAR OF CLASS: WR Shakim Phillips, Wayne, N.J.
THE BUZZ: Phillips and QB Chase Rettig have a chance to play early, while rest of class is solid.
10. WAKE FOREST
NATIONAL RANK: 64.5
STAR OF CLASS: DB A.J. Marshall, Durham, N.C.
THE BUZZ: A bunch of three-star recruits, many of whom, in typical Jim Grobe style, will redshirt.
11. VIRGINIA
NATIONAL RANK: 66.5
STAR OF CLASS: OL Morgan Moses, Fork Union, Va.
THE BUZZ: New coach Mike London held together a small class of 17 players, including four quarterbacks.
12. DUKE
NATIONAL RANK: 70
STAR OF CLASS: ATH Joshua Snead, Smithfield, N.C.
THE BUZZ: Blue Devils signed 10 skill-position players, as coach David Cutcliffe tries to bring more speed into program.
