Today's news video
Bauer consultant draws fire
Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer drew fire from Democrats last week for hiring a political consultant who once distributed a racial parody of President Obama.
Chip Saltzman made headlines last year when he withdrew from the race to run the national Republican Party for distributing to supporters a racially tinged parody about Obama.
A compact disc that Saltzman distributed included a song entitled "Barack the Magic Negro," a riff on the folk song "Puff the Magic Dragon."
Saltzman will replace Chris LaCavita, best known for his hand in the Swiftboats Veterans for Truth. That group's ads, which questioned U.S. Sen. John Kerry's military service, helped Republican President Bush win a second term.
