USC basketball recruit RJ Slawson of Fort Dorchester has been named the Gatorade Player of the Year in South Carolina.
Slawson averaged 23 points, 13 rebounds and 7 blocks per game this season.
He will play Saturday for the South Carolina team in the Carolinas All Star Classic in Myrtle Beach.
