The second annual Captain Barker's Boat Poker Run will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Spinner's Resort and Marina. The event starts at Spinner's and will make stops at RiverWinds Landing, the Lake Shack Grub & Pub, Big Man's Marina, Southshore Marina and Buffalo Creek Marina. The Capital City Music & Wing Fling will be held from noon to 8 p.m. on the 1500 block of Main St. The Movement, Simplified, Town Mountain, John Wesley Satterfield, Justin Smith and The Folk Hop Band, The Casual Kings and Mike Willis will perform. The 21 Sounds composer showcase series will be held from 7:30 to 9 p.m. The showcase seeks to dispel a widely held notion: That classical music composition is the sport of dead men. Contemporary composition is alive! The series seeks to provide local and regional composers with venue to get their work heard. The venue is The White Mule. The inaugural concert in the series will feature local composers George Fetner and Ayala Asherov Kalus.
