Murphy Holloway, who announced Friday afternoon he is transferring from Ole Miss after two seasons with the Rebels, is likely going to land at Clemson, according to a source close to Holloway.

Holloway (6-7) was non-committal Friday night and said he's not had any official contact with any school primarily because the paper work for his release from Ole Miss has not been completed.

One thing is certain. Holloway, a Dutch Fork graduate, won't be heading to USC.

Today's news video

Holloway said that after Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy gave Malcolm White a release allowing him to transfer to LSU last year, the school's athletic director is not going to allow Kennedy to allow another player transfer within the SEC.

Holloway only wants to go to USC or Clemson, and with USC out of the question, the source said a deal will get done for Holloway to transfer to Clemson.

Holloway started 55 games in his two seasons at Ole Miss. He averaged over 10 points and 7 rebounds per game last season.

Holloway was the state's Mr. Basketball in 2008. He was recruited by Clemson then. He was also recruited by new Clemson assistant coach Earl Grant when Grant was at Wichita State.
