Spring Valley Country Club marked its golden anniversary Saturday with a gala for members and guests to celebrate its 50 years in Columbia Northeast.

Named "Children, Charity and Community," the event featured golf and tennis competition, swimming, lawn games and games for youngsters. Both Cocky and the Clemson Tiger joined the festivities during the evening's pig pickin'.

"There's a lot going on and a lot to celebrate," club manager and director of golf Mike Birdsell said.
