Linebacker Mason Harris (6-3 190) of Rossville, Ga., committed to USC Monday while on campus for a camp.

Harris was offered by his recruiter G.A. Mangus and made his pledge.

"Coach Mangus thinks I'll fit in good with the program," Harris said. "I toured the campus and talked with coach [Brad] Lawing. He wants to use me like [Eric] Norwood, rushing in and dropping back. He wants me to put on about another 40 pounds.

Harris also has offers from Middle Tennessee State and UT Chattanooga.

Last season he had 65 tackles and 12 sacks.

"I use my hands well and get off blockes well," he said. "I can get to the quarterback."

Harris is the third commitment for USC's 2011 class.

"I liked all the new facilities ... the weight room, lounge, student center," he said. "I've always liked South Carolina."
