Georgia DE commits to USC

July 23, 2010

DE Lorenzo Mauldin (6-4 223) of Atlanta committed to USC Friday afternoon while attending the Gamecock Showcase Camp. "I love the coaches and the atmosphere of the school," Mauldin said.

"The academics with the football program is outstanding. It meets my needs and wants. I'm not taking any more visits this summer. This is all I needed to see."

Mauldin also had offers from Kentucky, Troy, Samford, Marshall, Middle Tennessee and South Alabama. Last season he had 70 tackles with 5 sacks.

"I will be the best player they can have from my perspective with their coaching," Mauldin said.

He also plays tight end and punts. Mauldin gives USC 10 commitments for its 2011 class.
