Blythewood RB Brandon Wilds (6-1 220) announced a commitment to USC Thursday.

Wilds chose the Gamecocks over Illinois, Maryland and East Carolina.

Wilds rushed for 1,500 yards and 20 touchdowns last season.

"He has great speed for his size," said his coach Geremy Saitz. "He can catch the ball in the slot. He runs north-south with power but also has some elusive traits."

Wilds is USC's 14th commitment for the 2011 class and the first running back to pledge.
