Dutch Forks Roland Hakes and the Irmo Yellow Jackets dominated the show in the boys division at the Trojan Invitational cross country meet hosted by Northwestern in Rock Hill on Sept. 4.
Hakes emerged as the individual champion with a time of 17 minutes, 6.20 seconds.
Irmo nipped Providence (NC) 71-73 in race for team honors, thanks to Top 10 runs by Aaron Sirko, Andrew Jordan and Andy Roof. Sirko finished third (17:06.2), Jordan was fifth (17:11.2) and Roof checked in seventh (17:23.5).

Jamie Lanier (19th, 18:00.5) and Patrick Duggan (37th, 18:29) also contributed to the Jackets winning performance.
The stellar Hakes performance was not the only story for Dutch Fork. Zac Jaynes (11th, 17:34), Jesse Richards (15th, 17:44.2), Michael Sherman (33rd, 18:21.7) and Jo Klasnic (34th, 18:23.8) ran in strong support of the leader to lift the Silver Foxes to a 94-point, third-place finish.
Blythewood, the only other Midlands entry, scored 194 points and finished in eighth place. William Epps paced the Bengals, finishing 10th in 17:29.9.
On the girls side, Irmo placed third, Dutch Fork was sixth and Blythewood came in ninth.
Irmos Savannah Radenbaught (9th, 20:58.5) and Janay Chisolm (10th, 21:01.1) were the local headliners.
Amelia Syfert (12th, 21:16.2) paced Dutch Fork and Sara Eastwood (39th, 23:09.9) was Blythewoods team leader.
