Clemson gets WR commitment

Published: November 17, 2010

Wide receiover Stanton Seckinger (6-5, 200) of Porter-Gaud committed to Clemson on Tuesday night, picking the Tigers over N.C. State.

"That was one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make," Seckinger said. "I just had a gut feeling that this is where I needed to be."

Seckinger has a gray-shirt offer from the Tigers, meaning if no scholarship is available in August, he'll wait and enroll in January.

But he believes one will come open. Seckinger has 90 catches for more than 1,600 yards and 24 touchdowns this season. From watching the Clemson passing game, he feels he can step in and help.

"I would be a decent possession receiver running digs and outs and curls, and they run a lot of those," he said. "They like to throw a good many screens which we've done a lot this year."

Seckinger is Clemson's 22nd commitment and fourth receiver.
