Keenan enters its four wrestling season with the hope of competing at a higher level in the region this season.

The Raiders welcome back two senior veterans Anthony Harris (189 pounds) and Quintion Cannon (171). Harris, a four-year starter, is coming off shoulder surgery after suffered a season-ending injury last year.

The problem the team faces is filling out a lineup. Coach Marlin Taylor lists 11 wrestlers on the varsity team, but seven of them are grouped together at the top four weights. Cannon is joined at 171 by Drell Coe, Harris is set at 189, Jamil Matthews and Joseph James are dueling at 215 and Tquise Scott and Brandon Smalls are competing at heavyweight.

Otherwise, James Farrow is at 119, Tony McWhite is at 130, Peter Esaw is at 152 and Datron Hyam is set at 160.

Keenan will be going against Gilbert, Columbia, Eau Claire and Strom Thurmond in Region 3-2A this season.

The highlight for the nascent program so far is the state championship run by heavyweight Matthew Johnson in 2009.
