Shoppers who want the most up-to-date information about crops arriving at the S.C. State Farmers Market be it South Carolina tomatoes or shrimp from the coast can now get updates by text.
The market, on U.S. 321 in Lexington County, has established the Harvest Society, a program that lets members be the first to know when crops arrive, when there are events at the demonstration kitchen and other notifications.
The texts will begin in April, but people can join the society now.
