State House politicos and bloggers were buzzing Wednesday over speculation that former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee will not run for the Republican nomination for president in 2012.

The speculation comes just days after the former-minister-turned-politician was chosen as the top presidential pick of S.C. Republicans in the Winthrop Poll.

Still, sources close to the Huckabee campaign told The State Wednesday the odds remain 50-50 on whether Huckabee, who has a lucrative contract as a Fox News commentator, will run.

Huckabee, who is also earning money off of public appearances and a new book, has said he will make a decision this summer.
