S.C. Air Guard celebrates its cultural diversity

September 10, 2011

The S.C. National Guard celebrated the diversity of its personnel Saturday with a food-tasting and cultural display.

The event at the McEntire Air National Guard Base near Eastover was the first-ever “Taste of McEntire,” according to Guard spokesman Maj. James Roth.

Roth says members of the 169th Fighter Wing with Asian-Pacific, Hispanic-American, African-American and European-American descent offered food samples connected to their heritage. There were also music, dancing and displays.
