A barbershop owner in Richland Northeast shot a man who tried to rob the business, Richland County deputies say.

The shooting occurred during an attempted robbery of All the Way Cuts and Styles about 7:30 p.m. Saturday, deputies said. The shop is in the 9300 block of Two Notch Road.

The alleged robber who was shot is receiving medical care at Palmetto Health Richland. Neither his identity nor that of the barbershop owner was available Sunday.

A second man who took part in the alleged robbery was captured shortly after fleeing the shop during the shooting, deputies said.

Ronald Capers, 22, faces charges of armed robbery and attempted murder, deputies said. He is being held at Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center, deputies said.
