Region 4-4A basketball swings back into action tonight with three varsity doubleheaders.

The schedule features Ridge View at Richland Northeast, Blythewood at Irmo and Dutch Fork at Lugoff-Elgin.

Boys - Irmo 2-0/11-2; Richland NE 1-0/9-3; Spring Valley 1-1/7-4; Ridge View 1-1/7-6; Dutch Fork 1-1/3-6; Blythewood 0-1/6-7; Lugoff-Elgin 0-2/1-8.

Girls - Dutch Fork 2-0/12-1; Spring Valley 2-0/9-3; Ridge View 1-1/10-2; Lugoff-Elgin 1-1/3-6; Blythewood 0-1/8-4; Richland NE 0-1/3-10; Irmo 0-2/7-5.

The Ridge View-RNE clash is the boys headliner. Both teams are coming off holiday tournament championships after tough outings at the Chick-fil-A event prior to Christmas. RV, which went 0-3 at Chick-fil-A, had a 3-0 run to a division title at the Bi-Lo Holiday Classic in North Augusta. RNE, which won one of three Chick-fil-A outings, had a 3-0, championship performance at the Capital City Classic, including a 62-59 win over host Keenan.

Travis Hammonds is averaging 15.6 points and 9.6 rebounds per game for Jason Powell’s RNE Cavaliers, while Mike Murphy is at 9.8 ppg and Devante Anderson at 9.4 ppg.

Seth Coleman was named the Bi-Lo Holiday Classic MVP while leading the Blazers to tournament glory.
