James K. Lehman has been elected managing partner at Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough. He will oversee the firm’s 12 East Coast offices and more than 900 attorneys and other staff. Lehman replaces David E. Dukes, who is stepping down after more than a decade but will continue practicing. “(Lehman) is an exceptional leader in our firm and in our community in addition to being a highly sought-after business litigator and counselor,” Dukes said. Lehman returned to Nelson Mullins in 2004 after working as general counsel with Safety-Kleen Corp., where he helped the company emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The Bob Jones University and USC School of Law graduate serves such groups as the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce’s Good to Great Foundation and the City Center Partnership.
