Newt Gingrich was supposed to go to the zoo tonight.

The former House speaker was slated to talk with CNN talk show host Piers Morgan from the Greenville Zoo before weather forced a change of plans, The Greenville News reported.

The interview will be shot instead from the Roper Mountain Science Center.

Apparently, Gingrich loves zoos and lists his favorites on one of his websites.

Unfortunately, he doesn't include one in South Carolina -- though Atlanta and North Carolina make his list.

An elephant at the Riverbanks Zoo declined comment today but asked where Rick Santorum was visiting today.
