Former S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford appeared on Fox News this morning and answered a few questions about the S.C. primary tomorrow.

He thought Mitt Romney seemed evasive in not releasing his tax returns.

"I don’t know why he is dragging out his own torture," Sanford said. "It’s something South Carolina voters have come to expect. It raises the the specter you’re hiding something.”

Sanford felt, however, that Romney had dealt with the criticism about his days running the Bain Capital private investment firm.

He was asked about the impact of current S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley’s endorsing help Romney. Sanford had wondered previously if it could hurt his campaign.

“Time will tell," Sanford said today "It’s more a plus than a minus, but an endorsement matters less than where a candidate stands on the issues.”
