A Camden man has been charged with two counts of criminal sexual conduct in a case involving 3- and 4-year-old victims.

Joseph Alton Boone, 32, was arrested by Kershaw County Sheriff’s Deputies on Friday.

Sheriff Jim Matthews said his office got a complaint from the childrens’ mother that her daughter and son had been sexually assaulted by her live-in boyfriend. The incidents took place at her home, outside Camden, between Jan. 1 and 12.

Interviews with the children and Boone corroborated the allegation, the sheriff said in a news release.

The two children, along with a 1-year-old sibling, have been placed with the S.C. Department of Social Services.

Boone was being held at the Kershaw County Detention Center, awaiting a bond hearing.
