A 29-year-old Columbia man faces charges in Saturday’s hit-and-run death of a woman on a moped on Interstate 26.

Lyson Soram is charged with leaving the scene with a death involved, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.

Soram is awaiting for a bond hearing at the Lexington County Detention Center. He was arrested after law enforcement received a tip.

Video from around the world

The collision is still under investigation by the Highway Patrol’s accident reconstruction team.

Miranda Jeanette Senn, 31, of West Columbia, was killed after being hit by another driver heading eastbound on I-26 near the Bush River Road exit, officials with the Lexington County coroner’s office said. Senn was pronounced dead at the scene.

The collision occurred around 4 a.m. and left I-26 in that part of Lexington County shut down for several hours.
