Lexington authorities hope the public can help identify a suspect caught by surveillance cameras after allegedly stealing pre-paid cell phones.

According to a police department statement, the suspect had an established routine the three times he struck the Walmart in Lexington this month: He would select one or more pre-paid phone(s) from a display, take them to another location in the store, remove the packing, pocket the phone(s) and leave.

Lexington Police Department spokesman, Lt. Carroll Bledsoe said it's not known if the phones are being used in a larger criminal activity.

The suspect is described as a white male, 25-35 years old, about 6 feet tall with short dark hair and a goatee. He may show a recent cut on his left hand.

His car is a bluish/green vehicle (possibly a Ford Taurus) with a missing right front hubcap. Anyone who recognizes the man in the surveillance photographs is asked to contact the Lexington Police Department at 803-359-6260or Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIMESC.
