Jakob Crockett stands in the middle of his excavation project that has uncovered evidence of a lunch counter in the 1890's and an earlier home where former slaves Celia Mann and her husband Ben Delaine may have lived in 1843. The archaeology dig at the Mann-Simons Cottage is wrapping up this week after making several discoveries. Among them, the fact that Celia Mann never lived in the cottage. Finding support posts buried in the ground suggests however that Mann did live on the site.
