Richland County authorities cordoned off the 1800 block of Horrill Hill Road in Hopkins Wednesday night, looking for the suspect wanted in the fatal shooting Tuesday of a Hopkins man and wounding of another.
Jabriel Singleton, 20, is considered armed and dangerous, said department spokesman Curtis Wilson. Residents of the area were asked to stay indoors.
Tips led investigators to this wooded and sparsely populated stretch of road in the search for Singleton. Dogs and helicopters used in the search.

Earlier Wednesday, Richland County Coroner Gary Watts identified the man fatally shot Tuesday as Dashawn F. Jones, 24, of Hopkins.
Jones died from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. He and another man were shot repeatedly Tuesday around 2:15 p.m. while they were in their vehicle on Prioleau Road. Wilson said that when deputies responded to the scene a few minutes later, Jones was already dead. The other man, whose identity has not been released, was airlifted to Palmetto Health Richland. Wilson said the other man is still being treated there.
