South Carolina Democrats will formally select Barack Obama as their presidential candidate on Saturday at dozens of firehouse caucuses across the state.
The meetings, known as precinct reorganizations, are also the first step toward becoming a national delegate to Septembers Democratic National Convention in Charlotte.
Precincts will elect delegates to the county conventions, who will elect delegates to the state convention, who will elect delegates to the national convention.
You are not eligible to be a delegate if you voted in the Republican presidential primary on Jan. 21.
Lexington County Democrats will meet at 10 a.m. the Woodmen of the World Building, 3620 Augusta Road, beside the US 1 flea market. Richland County Democrats will gather at 124 polling places throughout the county.
Other counties, like Sumter, will meet March 3.
