The Congaree River gets a little love from American Rivers this week, included in the advocacy group’s list of "Winter Wonders: Five River to Enjoy Now."

The listing touts this as a good time of year to explore the Congaree River Blue Trail and to canoe in Congaree National Park (actually along Cedar Creek, which is a tributary of the Congaree).

In what seems like a corollary to Columbia’s Famously Hot slogan, the item states "mild winter temps mean no mosquitoes, no crowds, no problem." It says nice things about Columbia, too.
