C.A. Johnson took two wins from visiting Chesterfield in Region 3-1A basketball on Tuesday.

The Green Hornets girls (9-9, 7-0) defeated the Rams 41-19 to stay put in first place. Nakia Owens led CAJ with 14 points, while Logan Furtick and Denesha Moye both scored eight points.

In the nightcap, the Hornets (7-11, 4-3) broke a two-game skid with a 62-57 win. Peter Goodman (20 points), Mike Knox (13), Dontrell Corley (11) and Robert Riley (10) led the Johnson scoring parade.
