The Central Midlands Council of Governments, along with the S.C. Department of Transportation, is evaluating options for improving commuter connections between Newberry and Columbia.

The study will analyze various options to determine which is most feasible for the region’s long-range transportation plan.

Two open houses will introduce the project and seek feedback. They are 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Columbia meeting will be at USC’s Learning Center for Sustainable Futures, Room 103, 1216 Wheat St. The Newberry meeting will be at City Hall, 1330 College St.
