LEXINGTON 2: The artwork of student artists from Airport and Brookland-Cayce high schools will be on exhibit through March 1 at the Lexington 2o District Education Center, 715 Ninth St., West Columbia. At an opening day reception Feb. 16, many students, parents, educators and community members visited the art show. While visitors viewed the display, they enjoyed music provided by a student ensemble from Brookland-Cayce High School. Elementary school student artists will have their work on display during the month of March at the center. Also during the month of March, Tapp's Arts Center will be featuring art made by local students. The Brookland-Cayce High School advanced art students will have work displayed within the space and be highlighted in three of the exterior window displays. Opening night will be during the First Thursday on Main Street Art Crawl March 1. There will be an additional opening specifically for the kids, teachers and parents later in the month, on March 18, from 2-5 p.m. During both openings, the Brookland-Cayce High School Drama Department will be performing.
