Crews from Sox & Freeman Tree Co. began removal of a large limb Tuesday that fell and damaged a half dozen grave markers in the cemetery adjoining Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in downtown Columbia. The live oak from which it split off seems in good shape, church officials said. Its location makes the tree in the center of the graveyard adjoining the 200-year-old church across from the State House one of the best-known in the area. The limb fell about 4 p.m. Monday amid rain and wind, officials said. TIM DOMINICK — tdominick@thestate.com Buy Photo
