A man died Saturday evening in what Richland County authorities are calling an accidental drowning.
The victim, whose identity has not yet been released by the Richland County Coroner's Office, was on the Lake Murray shore at Love Valley Court in the Chapin area when he slipped on some rocks around 5:30 p.m., Richland County Sheriff's spokesman Curtis Wilson said.
The man's wife said she tried to pull him out but was unable to, Wilson said. The man was taken to Lexington Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
