Two suspected Folk Nation gang members were arrested following a fatal shooting Monday in West Columbia.
Lexington County deputies arrested Xaius Quandile Riley 21, of West Columbia; and Jermele Antawin Eigner, 26, of Newberry following the shooting death of 33-year-old West Columbia man Terance Terell Jackson. Riley is charged with murder and possession of weapon during the commission of a violent crime and Eigner is charged with accessory to murder after the fact.
A warrant for Riley’s arrest alleges that Riley shot Jackson in his chest several times while he was sitting in a red Buick Sedan parked at the West Vista Apartments complex. A 24-year-old Cheraw woman was also shot in the hip in the incident, but her wounds are not expected to be life-threatening. Investigators say the shooting stems from an argument between Jackson and Riley about a week prior to the incident.
Eigner helped Riley get rid of the handgun used in the shooting, an arrest warrant alleges.
Both Riley and Eigner are being held at Lexington County Detention Center pending bond hearings. Riley will have to go before a circuit court judge before bond can be set.
